Wanted to float an idea I had when originally reading about the NAF sanctioned championships. Would it benefit tournament organisers to offer discounted entry to the whole championships?
MonkeyBowl and WaterBowl currently offer a combined entry with £5 discount, so it's not without precedent.
As far as I can see, from the point of view of having never organised a tournament there are a few potential benefits:

As far as I can see, from the point of view of having never organised a tournament there are a few potential benefits:
- Increase attendance - It would encourage coaches to attend all Scottish tournaments. Probably especially benefit the smaller tournaments
- Improve cashflow - With advance payment, organisers will have cash in the bank earlier and better confirmation of numbers. Admittedly, it is likely to be of less benefit to the first tournament of the year.
- Better tournament 'scene' - If coaches are contemplating which tournaments to attend, getting them to commit to all the Scottish ones is good for the scene up here. Especially thinking of folk like the Geordies who're are guaranteed to come up for some, can we persuade them to attend more?
On the downside, whatever discount was offered would have to be split among all the tournaments (possibly not equally, as the first tournament may benefit less and cost ratios are different for one and two day events but that is all open for debate). However, that can be factored into tournament planning. They would also need to select one person to receive all the payments and distribute accordingly but I'm sure there are several suitable candidates.
My gut feeling is that it would have to be in the 20-25% region. Enough that it would still be offer a saving even if you missed one tournament. Alternatively, a smaller discount with some form of bonus gift. Championship t-shirt with all the tournament logos for example.
Thoughts?
