Hi Bren, You will be a sad loss to England and the community as a whole at Eurobowl. I for one will miss your excellent company in Porto. I think you should share the reasons you have had to drop out as a) they are real world and positive and b) they will scotch any unnecessary speculation. In an uncanny parallel, I do not believe it has been announced outside the immediate Scottish attendees at UKTC but the Scottish Team captain has had to stand down for similar positive reasons. Cheers, Graham Anybody want to add anything to the above

Hopefully Garrick will chime in with something official, but in the meantime: Don_Shula announced he would step down as Scottish captain at the UKTC as he's unable to make Portugal this year due to a scheduling clash. Not sure where we are with his replacement.

Sorry to disappoint but there was an obvious candidate and he got universal support. Watch this space for the announcement

Sorry to disappoint but there was an obvious candidate and he got universal support. Watch this space for the announcement I thought there were two names put forward at the meal with a likely third candidate who wasn't present to confirm his interest? Or had I already passed my beer intake limit by that point?

Of the 3 expected candidates 2 have declined leaving the obvious choice to go forward uncontested Russian election rigging again? Looking forward to the announcement.

Email sent out this afternoon by DonShula:
Good afternoon all,
As you know I have stepped down as Eurobowl Captain for family reasons. I look forward to playing my way back into the team in the near future.
At UKTC we discussed the matter and both Ant and Graham were nominated for the captaincy. I was to conduct a vote amongst the community to decide the new captain. Following this Graham has decided to pull out of the race and Ant will now assume the role.
The compulsory selections for the Scottish team of eight at Eurobowl Portugal in October are:
Ant Graham Ralph Mike R Sean
So two rookies are thrust into the mix. I don't begrudge Ant the difficult decision he needs to make regarding the rest of the eight. Please also confirm to Ant that you are available for selection should he choose you. Would also be a good idea to sound out the extended squad and those wishing to compete in EurOpen three man teams.
Please forward this to anyone that i have missed off the email.
Regards David
