I played AndyDavo at the weekend - his line up for that which he did say he was experimenting with was: 3x Blitzers - all Dodge 2x Witch - Block/Wrestle Runner - Dodge (not Leader!) 5x Lino Apo 2RR Think he was finding the Block on one Witch useful for killing skinks, catchers etc useful after moving over from his previously favored Double Wrestle Witches - so a vote fo r you there Graham

I don't think anything needs added here. I do like that roster.

All looks sensible chat here; I would add my weight to SS Catcher rather than Grab tree. Possibly even Grab Tree and SS Catcher with 1x Wrestle - as it make the 1 OTT much simpler

I'm in the same camp for 2ff vs 1x each staff - having had a talk round the situation before; I'm not convinced that a straight statistical analysis accurately reflects the various 'aims' that are covered by 2ff/3ff vs staff as Mike mentioned above.
On the team itself, whatever there are so many good choices with logical explanations that its leave too many ifs and buts - personally I do like the claw/frenzy/MB threat to high AV (and general MB threat to low AV) but wouldn;t argue strongly for it over Double Block wolves as they are just a nightmare

I would say 4th Ghoul is not necessary with lack of skills. Zombie effectively tie-up many players, you don't want to using a Ghoul for that but can be effective if you are choosing right target.
One of the main reasons (i would assume) for Sure Hands is to protect against cage breaking/leaping Strip Ball'ers as much as 'saving a re-roll' if you have more guard you are more likely to be able to have a guard or two ion cage corners to make it a 2D uphill if they are tying that maneuver; when playing strength teams the extra guard is still useful.
The Sure Hands does give a positive end/mid game advantage of worst coming to worst you have two chances of a pick-up in tackle zones.
Personally, I would probably put Block on Ghoul or Guard on Mummy before Sure Hands.

I played with BC (and Ogre ball carriers similar ethos) and if that's the personal preference and your play style work around that unless something changes with you go with your '1st choice' you'll be more comfortable rather than 2nd guessing yourself on the day.
I really can't see an overwhelming reason to take 'staff' over Apo - I would say take Apo and don't be afraid to use him on a KO for Dwarf or Centaur (especially) early in a half.

On the back of Gert yesterday - the only Dwarves were Nippy's so we were having a chat as he was trialing Wrestle on his runner - I think the results were mixed. What I can say with surety is his arguments didn't sway me - if you are going to skill the Runner go with Block. I would suggest changing anything with Gavs roster

Looking at the roster info and comments above I'll chip in with...
Its very difficult to look past Block as basically you want as many Saurus's as possible to hit every turn hunting the 10's for Inj. If you can't do the hit reliably then it get left later in the turn and may not happen. The form book does give merit to 2x Tackle, 2x Break Tackle. In my own personal view I would probably look at 2x Tackle first as any sort of Elf or even Undead ghouls are hugely inconvenienced by the Tackle/Tail combo and can really stall them getting set properly.
Generally I would say if you are really relying on Break Tackle then you are using your Saurus's wrong, but what I should say is... that is my style, others do it different. In a few games recently I have seen really key moments where Break Tackle would have been an amazing bonus and wouldn't rule out trying it more to see if actually i can make that work (but not before this Eurobowl).
Was speaking to Nippy about Lizards yesterday and his comment on Frenzy was as much as anything else its a threat to keep teams 'honest' on the side lines (obviously it also helps with OTT and things mentioned above)
I think there are also conversations about Wrestle and Guard but I think they are red herrings for Eurobowl and don't really offer you anything more than stuff already discussed.
I would like to put Break Tackle on the Krox as maneuverability is very important for him but the Krox is a big bag of fail waiting to happen I would generally prefer to do little with him and pivot round him (both on attack and defense) until he needs to re-position (and therefore invite some level of fail). TBH if I had the skill to spare for Eurobowl I would actually probably put Stand Firm on him, generally when teams go for 1D or 2d uphill on Krox they assume a fair chance of success with SF you could argue that any 'arrow' becomes a fail as well if all they are trying to do is free the Dodge player you have tagged (who will be one of the assists). However personally I think the point is moot, the benefits of something on Krox are outweighed by the extra Saurus skill whatever it is as they can reliable use it every turn as opposed to the Krox where any points/skills you invest in him are lost the moment you roll that Bonehead 1.

I'd just like to add my vote of confidence for the chap organising the Irish Team - Raging82 - Dan is a top chap, he plays with the Swindon lot and I've met him at a couple of tournaments as well now. I'm sure the Irish team will be in good hands with him.

I believe Hoomin was captain before me also? Oi you cheeky bugger, I was the captain before you not hoomin. I'm pretty sure it was Rob (hoomin) and Dave (pubbowler) who missed the flight. Also eurobowl 3 was in England. Myself, Rob and richard would all went to try and canvas support for a Scottish team entering the following year. Cool, cheers Andy - I've updated the OP's - who's Richard? D
