Hi there,
I'm looking at going to the NAF championships in May next year and I am more interested in trying to get nominated for best painted team (I know it's tough and I don't think I'd win...just hope to get nominated)
I purchased the Greebo Malefic Chaos Pact team and hopefully it should arrive about the turn of the year. That would give me 4 months to paint it which I think is do-able.
So if NAF2019 follows last year and it 1.1K with 4 normal/1 double day 1 and an additional 3 normal day 2...What do anyone who is experienced with Pact...or just more experienced than me (Which wouldn't be difficult) think I should put in the list?
From a painting point of view I'd like all 3 big guys...But I know that from a game point of view they are a bit of a liability. I don't know if I'd want the Skaven or not and from what I've read online that's meant to be a big debate with Pact players. I know they are not really a competitive team...but I'd like to not get smashed every game.
So my initial thought was...
Minotaur - Juggernaut (Day 1) Ogre - Guard (Day 1) Troll - Tentacles (Day 1) Orc Dark Elf - Dodge (Day 1) Goblin - 2 Heads (Day 1) Marauder - A skill (Day 2) Marauder - A skill (Day 2) Marauder - A skill (Day 2) Marauder Marauder
3x Re-rolls Apothecary
So 11 players and an Apo to hopefully bring one back.
As a side note. Does anyone know how the judging is done? Is it done by judges or do the players vote for their favourite team etc?

My 2 cents. 11 players seems pretty light, lose one or 2 then a big guy gets stuck in the middle of nowhere and you are quickly out of bodies. You dont really want to rely on the big guys being an important part of the cage for when they lose their tacklezones and more marauders helps. Leader is a normal skill so drop a reroll and get an extra marauder or 2. Double skill is block on the mino all day long. Dodge on the elf, the aforementioned leader then load up on guard for easier 3 dice blocks.

What about...
01 Minotaur - Block (Day 1) 02 Chaos Troll 03 Chaos Ogre - Guard 04 Orc Renegade 05 Dark Elf Renegade - Dodge (Day 1) 06 Goblin Renegade - Two Heads 07 Skaven Renegade - Wrestle 08 Marauder 09 Marauder - Guard (Day 1) 10 Marauder - Guard (Day 1) 11 Marauder - Leader (Day 1) 12 Marauder 13 Marauder
2 x Re-Rolls Apothecary
Do you think i should take the guard off the Ogre in case of bonehead or leave it as it's more difficult to block the S5. Do you think i should go with wrestle on the skaven or horns?

I'd be blitzing with the mino mostly so horns is a bit wasted. Wrestle is always handy for a sweeper and would get more all round use. Guard ogre is good as he's harder to push away, but he will choose his moments to go bh. I'd go with it anyway. I don't think I'd waste a skill on the goblin, he's too squishy and wasting a skill just for an unlikely ots is inefficent to put it politely.

OK, so now that the (not great) rules pack has been released for the NAF Championship i need to again look at the team. After playing and speaking to Ali at Killiebowl i was very impressed by the idea of taking a list based on his one...As such:
01 Minotaur - Block (Day 1) 02 Chaos Ogre - Guard (Day 2)
03 Orc Renegade 04 Dark Elf Renegade - Dodge (Day 1) 05 Goblin Renegade 06 Marauder - Guard (Day 1) 07 Marauder - Guard (Day 1) 08 Marauder - Wrestle (Day 2) 09 Marauder 10 Marauder 11 Marauder
Lewdgrip Whiparm
2 x Re-Rolls
Apothecary
I have 1 more day 2 skill however i have no idea what to take or where. Any suggestions?
Cheers
