A tight match that saw early Skaven casualties cause Goldeneye serious concern that his semi final fixture might evaporate!

First Semi Final: LordGarlack with the Ravens v Garrick with the Albann Knights
These two sides have met before and the matches have always be close tense affairs. This time however the Knights are without Lot their Ogre and Gawain one of their Blitzers, both MNG bringing the Knights down to a squad of 10 men and a sub 1700 TV. Even after hiring another lineman they have enough inducement left against the full strength Ravens to hire a Mercenary Blitzer to temporarily fill Gawain's boots. Even so a 12 man strong Knight squad looked very fragile indeed against a much deeper Orc bench and a front line heavily equipped with Mighty Blow and Claw!
18,000 Knight fans tried to drown out the 12,000 green skinned home support. Coach LordGarlack won the toss and elected to kick. A Pitch Invasion saw Arthur, the Knights star Quarterback stunned and Mordred had to fill in for him. A desperate scramble up the left wing saw Mordred hand off to Lancelot who sprinted in for an early score before the Ravens could start handing out any serious beat down.
All was going to LordGarlack's plan. Force the Knights to score early followed by a 7 turn maiming drive to finish the first half 1-1. Then an easy 8 turn drive in the second half against a depleted Knight squad to secure a place in the final. The drive started and soon the Ravens had drawn first blood, leaving the lifeless body of blitzer Bedivere Mummy Masher in their wake. Merlin summoned the dragon and with a start Bedivere convulsed back into the world of the living.
Gareth one of the Knight linemen left the game (KO'd but never returned - the lazy beggar!) and it looked pretty certain that LordGarlack's plan was coming to fruition when that wrecker of Blood Bowl dreams, Griff Lancelot got involved. Having spent most of the drive stunned might explain why the Ravens overlooked him lurking behind their lines. With a dodging sprinting blitz he swept all the way round the ubiquitous Orc cage (they don't call him the "backdoor bandit" for nothing!) and flattened the Orc Quarterback. The ball bounced out of the cage and Galahad the Knight's star Catcher wandered into multiple Orc tackle zones, picked up the ball and danced out again. The Ravens flattened Lancelot who was the Knight's best option for a turnover score before the first half ended and Galahad also hit the deck in a desperate attempt to manufacture a late score elsewhere. Unfortunately although the Ravens recovered the ball it was too late to score before the whistle for half time went. 1(0) - 0(1) to the Knights.
Oh well, plan B thought LordGarlack. 8 turn drive depleting the Knights in the second half and forcing extra time against a weakened Human squad. The Knights started the second half with a short kick. A Defensive Blitz saw the Ravens completely man marked, Lancelot under the ball and in the Orc end zone shortly afterwards having trampled straight over the the Orc Quarterback on the way. 2-0.
It started to dawn on LordGarlack that his plan was going awry. On the restart Leodegrance's game came to an end reducing the Knights to 10 men for the rest of the game however a failed pickup by the the now seriously rattled Orc Quarterback saw Lancelot with the ball again, this time however the Knights had failed to man mark the Ravens and Mr T Frenzy blitzed into Lancelot only to see him side step into space leaving Mr T with a 2 dice against block. That was Mr T's last recollection of the match as he was stretchered off for their only casualty of the match as Lancelot trotted in his hat trick bathed in the adulation of his adoring fans. 3-0.
Oh well thought LordGarlack "It can't get any worse, can it?". On the restart the shaken Ravens caged and a well engineered series of blocks opened up a corridor for Lancelot to blitz into the Orc cage and knock the Orc Quarterback on his arse again. Arthur scooped up the spilled ball and the Knights caged for the first time in the match. The Ravens, by now furious at their luck, swarmed the Knight cage. The Knights calmly cleared a path for Arthur who stepped up to the half way line and launched a pass into Galahad's safe hands in the Orc end zone. 4-0.
Another Defensive Blitz saw the trio of Lancelot, Galahad and Percival rush forward and secure the ball. The Ravens managed to flatten Lancelot but not recover the ball. Lancelot exploded from the ground and with support from Galahad pushed the Raven defence out of the way as both of them stepped back and said "after you" to Percival who trotted in for his first score of the day. 5-0.
LordGarlack was now heard to say "Well as long as we don't let it get to 5-0 as THAT would be embarrassing!". The Ravens assistant coach is now sporting a very finely mushed face after pointing out to his senior coach that the score was already 5-0!
On the restart the majority of the Albann Knights were in their own end zone celebrating qualifying for the Spike Cup 2514 final so they did not register that they had rolled their third Defensive Blitz nor see the death of poor old Pellinore Snotling Stomper the only regular team member standing bravely on the line of Scrimmage, an inaugural member of the Albann Knight squad since their very first match just over 3 years ago. An Albann Knight stalwart who will be sorely missed.
LordGarlack with the Ravens 0(3) v 5(1) Garrick with the Albann Knights.

Second Semi Final: Goldeneye with the White Tailed Warlocks v DonShula with the Tombstone Titans The Skaven took on the winners of this year's Chaos Cup (now sporting Disturbing Presence and Hypnotic Gaze). The Warlocks had Skitter, 2 Babes and a Wizard in tow.
The first half ended 1-1 with no casualties and it looked as though there was a possibility of a White Tailed upset. Unfortunately in the second half the casualties started to occur and the Titans ground out an 8 turn drive "not pretty but effective" as DonShula commented as he qualified for yet another Cup Final.
Goldeneye with the White Tailed Warlocks 1(1) v 2(3) DonShula with the Tombstone Titans
So the Final is:
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans v Garrick with the Albann Knights a repeat of this year's Chaos Cup
Both Coaches have agreed to waive the sub TV2000 stipulation for the final.
Fans wait with bated breath to see which stars will make an appearance!!

Spike Cup 2514 Final
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans v Garrick with the Albann Knights a repeat of this year's Chaos Cup (which the Titans won).
Both Coaches have agreed to waive the sub TV2000 stipulation for the final.
Fans wait with bated breath to see which stars will make an appearance!!
And they were not disappointed as the Knights appear with Zara the Slayer and the Titans with Wilhelm Chaney.
But even with Zara this was going to be a tough match for the Knights as the Tombstones Titans were brutally equipped with Mighty Blow and Piling On not to mention Hypnotic Gaze and Disturbing Presence courtesy of their recent Chaos Cup win. Both coaches were also under the weather and neither had their customary large flagon of wine in hand.
Both teams brought 44,000 fans with them Sweltering in the Heat as Goldeneye coach of the White Tailed Warlocks watched on.
The Knights won the toss and elected to receive. A Skull/Skull Pow roll by Lot the Ogre chewed up their first reroll and when it was swiftly followed by a Double Skull, Zara was left exposed on the wing and in the crowd shortly afterwards followed swiftly by Tristan’s lifeless body. The enigmatic Merlin summoned the dragon and Tristan “awoke” in the Reserves dugout.
Down to 9 men after only 1 turn Garrick, the Albann Knight’s coach could already see a repeat of all the previous cup finals he had met DonShula in, having never managed to beat him in a cup final before.
The Knights only consolation was that the Titans had not managed to get to the ball which was still lying on the deck, Arthur picked it up and caged on the halfway. Galahad made a break for the Titan’s end zone and Arthur sailed the ball into his waiting hands. 1-0 to the Knights.
The Knights kicked off the restart and a Perfect Defence saw the Titans offensive line tied up by a heavily committed Knight scrimmage line defence. Avoiding the embattled scrimmage the remainder of the Titans caged and drove up the left wing. The ploy however worked for the Knights as several Titans were knocked out and the Knights scrimmage line managed to swing back into the rear of the Titan cage which had been held up by the rump of the Knight defence. Finding themselves swamped a Titan Ghoul made a desperate dash for the Knight’s TD zone. He ducked, he weaved, he dodged and he dived straight into the ground just when it looked as though, against all the odds, he would make it through.
Percival the Swift picked up the spilled ball and sprinted the length of the field to score the Knight’s second touch down.
From this point on due to casualties and the Sweltering Heat the Knights never set up again with a full squad of 11 men, in fact in the second half they never had more than 9 players on the pitch (it should also be noted that on two kick offs the Titans were minus a Mummy, the Sweltering Heat cut both ways).
The Knights kicked off again but with little time left on the clock the Titans couldn’t pull one back and the first half finished 2-0 to the Knights.
DonShula turned to Garrick and remarked “You must be quietly confident now at 2-0 up?” Garrick was anything but. He had never beaten DonShula in a final and it would never do to underestimate the brutality of the Tombstone Titans.
The Knights kicked off, for the third time in a row, to start the second half and this time the Titans made certain of their drive against a depleted Knight squad. 2-1 to the Knights.
The Titans kicked to the Knights (now minus Lancelot due to the Sweltering Heat) and a Perfect Defence by the Titans soon saw Arthur under pressure deep in his own half against the touch line. DonShula was heard to comment “that is what happens when you are reliant on one or two stars”. One of the Titan Ghouls was surfed whilst attempting to sack Arthur.
Tristan, with Lancelot MIA tried to dodge back to help out his beleaguered team captain but fell flat on his face. Leaving Arthur to be blitzed and the ball being chucked back into the Titan’s half by the crowd. The Knights surfed the only Titan in range of scoring (the Wight who had sacked Arthur in the first place and caused the turnover) and the Titans threw the ball deep into the Knight’s half to avoid the possibility of the Knights scoring a third as the whistle went for full time.
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans 1(3) v Garrick with the Albann Knights 2(2)
A brutal match played in the Sweltering Heat. Of the surprisingly few casualties (5 in total) 2 were Badly Hurt, 1 was Gareth with a Broken Ankle and two were Deaths (one apothecaried and the other regenerated). Although Garrick’s first turn was particularly unlucky neither coach suffered either from excessively good or bad luck after that with the notable exception that DonShula’s luck left him at a crucial moment late in the first half that allowed the Knights to turn over the Titans. A great game played in good humour by two unusually sober coaches.
PS Lot the Ogre was awarded MVP which was a little surprising as he spent most of the match either knocking himself over or sitting the drive out with heat exhaustion!
