Having had several hours stuck in a bus on a snow covered French Alpine road I came up with a compromise independently that I think broadly parallels Ant's thoughts above:
Create a Scottish tournaments only Series open to all contestants and sanctionable by the NAF. The downside of open to all tournaments is the possibility of seeing the NAF trophy leave Scotland but the upside would be to encourage more players to come to Scottish tournaments plus the increased NAF publicity and prize support. This could be expanded into a North British Series if we wanted to include the Geordies and they were amenable.
In addition crown a Scottish Champion within the Scottish Series as the highest placed Scot within the series and they win the Dragon trophy. Ideally this would be the same person but if a non Scot won the series then we would still have a Scottish Champion and the Dragon trophy would remain in Scottish Hands.
As we have a core of active Scottish players at the UKTC, I suggest we discuss this there and hopefully come to a consensus.

So as I see it we have 3 choices:
1) Keep the current unsanctionable formula which worked last year with entry restricted to "Scots".
2) Create a half way house with the inclusion of a limited number of "foreign" tournaments but open to all contestants possibly * sanctionable by the NAF.
* Non Scottish tournaments would have to commit to the Scottish series and would not be allowed into any other sanctioned series.
3) Create a Scottish tournaments only Championship open to all contestants and sanctionable by the NAF.
The downside of open to all tournaments is the possibility of seeing the trophy leave Scotland but the upside of option 3) in particular would be to encourage English players to come up to Scottish tournaments plus the increased NAF publicity and prize support.
Sorry Valen but I vote option 3! What does everybody else think?

I have discussed this at some length with the NAF.
As the Scottish Championships are a closed (only open to Scottish Residents and other demonstrably Scottish players) series the NAF cannot sanction it but will publicise and may give us prize support.
We could discuss opening it up but we would be in serious danger of handing the trophy to a Geordie at the end of the series, what does everybody think?

17th December
Steven Bonnar with the Norse Raiders 2(1) v 1(0) Garrick with the Blood Brothers
Early beat down by the Norse saw the Blood Brothers down to 2 Vampires very quickly and the Norse ground in an 8 turn drive to finish the first half 1(1)-0(0). 10 Norse kicked off to 1 Vampire (Marcus) and 6 Thralls, quickly stamping their authority on the second half with a Defensive Blitz. Shortly afterwards the Norse sacked the lone Vampire carrying the ball and scored. On the restart most of the Blood Brothers finally returned to the pitch and 11 Norse set up against 2 Vampires and 8 Thralls things were looking up for the Vampires until they double skulled their way to losing the ball again. Viktor incensed at losing the ball regained it with an amazing blitzing run only to be sacked again and knocked off the pitch. Marcus, yet again the sole remaining Vampire on the pitch, regained the ball and made a desperate run for the line only to be sacked again, leaping to his feet he punched the Norse runner looming over the ball out of the way and Charlie the Thrall picked it up and sprinted in the Blood Brothers first score of the match as the final whistle went.
A tough match for the Blood Brothers who after losing Vampire Sonja early doors were outnumbered from then on and abandoned by their dice facing a relentless and successful bashing Norse Raiders. 2-1 was probably generous to the Blood Brothers!

I have emailed Mike to find out if it would be appropriate to register the Scottish Championships 2015 for this.

OK there will be two Leagues running: - A new Rookie League with TV1000k teams
- A Tournament style (i.e. Resurrection as against the conventional progression) League using UKTC rules: www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/UKTC.pdf
The reason for using UKTC is that is the next competition on the "Scottish" circuit and I think we should use NAFC rules for season 23 for the same reasons. Please can everybody indicate which Leagues they wish to participate in and with which teams. Rookie League Garrick with Vampires AdeptusFringilla with Pro Elves Steven Bonnar with Norse Steven 2(1) - 1(0) Garrick Steven 1(3) - 0(0) AdeptusFringilla Garrick 2(2) - 2(2) AdeptusFringilla Steven wins the Rookie League. Tournament / Resurrection League Garrick with Dark Elves HumptyTrump with Skaven Garrick 3 - 0 HumptyTrump

That's impressive. Was it OBBLM that broke? I'd be surprised if the MySQL backend wasn't up to it. I'd be happy to (try to) host EBBL if you wanted. Forgive me whilst I bite your hand off ... YES PLEASE!!!! We are just about to kickoff a Rookie Season can you do it in time for that?

Spike Cup 2514 Final
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans v Garrick with the Albann Knights a repeat of this year's Chaos Cup (which the Titans won).
Both Coaches have agreed to waive the sub TV2000 stipulation for the final.
Fans wait with bated breath to see which stars will make an appearance!!
And they were not disappointed as the Knights appear with Zara the Slayer and the Titans with Wilhelm Chaney.
But even with Zara this was going to be a tough match for the Knights as the Tombstones Titans were brutally equipped with Mighty Blow and Piling On not to mention Hypnotic Gaze and Disturbing Presence courtesy of their recent Chaos Cup win. Both coaches were also under the weather and neither had their customary large flagon of wine in hand.
Both teams brought 44,000 fans with them Sweltering in the Heat as Goldeneye coach of the White Tailed Warlocks watched on.
The Knights won the toss and elected to receive. A Skull/Skull Pow roll by Lot the Ogre chewed up their first reroll and when it was swiftly followed by a Double Skull, Zara was left exposed on the wing and in the crowd shortly afterwards followed swiftly by Tristan’s lifeless body. The enigmatic Merlin summoned the dragon and Tristan “awoke” in the Reserves dugout.
Down to 9 men after only 1 turn Garrick, the Albann Knight’s coach could already see a repeat of all the previous cup finals he had met DonShula in, having never managed to beat him in a cup final before.
The Knights only consolation was that the Titans had not managed to get to the ball which was still lying on the deck, Arthur picked it up and caged on the halfway. Galahad made a break for the Titan’s end zone and Arthur sailed the ball into his waiting hands. 1-0 to the Knights.
The Knights kicked off the restart and a Perfect Defence saw the Titans offensive line tied up by a heavily committed Knight scrimmage line defence. Avoiding the embattled scrimmage the remainder of the Titans caged and drove up the left wing. The ploy however worked for the Knights as several Titans were knocked out and the Knights scrimmage line managed to swing back into the rear of the Titan cage which had been held up by the rump of the Knight defence. Finding themselves swamped a Titan Ghoul made a desperate dash for the Knight’s TD zone. He ducked, he weaved, he dodged and he dived straight into the ground just when it looked as though, against all the odds, he would make it through.
Percival the Swift picked up the spilled ball and sprinted the length of the field to score the Knight’s second touch down.
From this point on due to casualties and the Sweltering Heat the Knights never set up again with a full squad of 11 men, in fact in the second half they never had more than 9 players on the pitch (it should also be noted that on two kick offs the Titans were minus a Mummy, the Sweltering Heat cut both ways).
The Knights kicked off again but with little time left on the clock the Titans couldn’t pull one back and the first half finished 2-0 to the Knights.
DonShula turned to Garrick and remarked “You must be quietly confident now at 2-0 up?” Garrick was anything but. He had never beaten DonShula in a final and it would never do to underestimate the brutality of the Tombstone Titans.
The Knights kicked off, for the third time in a row, to start the second half and this time the Titans made certain of their drive against a depleted Knight squad. 2-1 to the Knights.
The Titans kicked to the Knights (now minus Lancelot due to the Sweltering Heat) and a Perfect Defence by the Titans soon saw Arthur under pressure deep in his own half against the touch line. DonShula was heard to comment “that is what happens when you are reliant on one or two stars”. One of the Titan Ghouls was surfed whilst attempting to sack Arthur.
Tristan, with Lancelot MIA tried to dodge back to help out his beleaguered team captain but fell flat on his face. Leaving Arthur to be blitzed and the ball being chucked back into the Titan’s half by the crowd. The Knights surfed the only Titan in range of scoring (the Wight who had sacked Arthur in the first place and caused the turnover) and the Titans threw the ball deep into the Knight’s half to avoid the possibility of the Knights scoring a third as the whistle went for full time.
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans 1(3) v Garrick with the Albann Knights 2(2)
A brutal match played in the Sweltering Heat. Of the surprisingly few casualties (5 in total) 2 were Badly Hurt, 1 was Gareth with a Broken Ankle and two were Deaths (one apothecaried and the other regenerated). Although Garrick’s first turn was particularly unlucky neither coach suffered either from excessively good or bad luck after that with the notable exception that DonShula’s luck left him at a crucial moment late in the first half that allowed the Knights to turn over the Titans. A great game played in good humour by two unusually sober coaches.
PS Lot the Ogre was awarded MVP which was a little surprising as he spent most of the match either knocking himself over or sitting the drive out with heat exhaustion!

I think a Tournament style Division would be a good idea. Maybe UKTC this time and NAFC for Season 23 both are TV1100k tournaments.

UKTC individual results will not be an entirely fair reflection of each individual as they will be playing in a team. For instance a strong player in a weak (or unlucky) team could find his team last and him top of the individual rankings having played against weaker opponents all weekend! Ah, now I see your plan

Second Semi Final: Goldeneye with the White Tailed Warlocks v DonShula with the Tombstone Titans The Skaven took on the winners of this year's Chaos Cup (now sporting Disturbing Presence and Hypnotic Gaze). The Warlocks had Skitter, 2 Babes and a Wizard in tow.
The first half ended 1-1 with no casualties and it looked as though there was a possibility of a White Tailed upset. Unfortunately in the second half the casualties started to occur and the Titans ground out an 8 turn drive "not pretty but effective" as DonShula commented as he qualified for yet another Cup Final.
Goldeneye with the White Tailed Warlocks 1(1) v 2(3) DonShula with the Tombstone Titans
So the Final is:
DonShula with the Tombstone Titans v Garrick with the Albann Knights a repeat of this year's Chaos Cup
Both Coaches have agreed to waive the sub TV2000 stipulation for the final.
Fans wait with bated breath to see which stars will make an appearance!!
